Houses and House Captains
Children in KS2 are grouped into House Teams. We have established House Teams in response to pupil feedback that asked for more opportunities to work with others outside of their class. We also believe it gives children the chance to develop a sense of being part of the wider school community and their responsibility to themselves and others.
The House Teams are named after the following Christian leaders:
- Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Hudson-Wilkin
- John Sentamu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sentamu
- St Martin de Porres http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_de_Porres
- Desmond Tutu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmond_Tutu
Rather than go to lunch in their year group, they do so in House Teams. The House Captains (Y6 pupils) are responsible for encouraging children to move between the playground and lunch hall sensibly and for monitoring good manners and behaviour in the hall. During the school year children are given opportunities to work together in their House teams (e.g. Sports Day and workshops during themed days & weeks).
The current teams and captains are as follows:
